DAFNI Network in collaboration with Agoni Grammi Gonimi, New Wrinkle and Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems organized the first educational programme "Smart Islands Education". The programme was held in Kassel, Germany between 21 and 25 August. The systematic contact of DAFNI Network with one of the most acclaimed research institutes has brought fruit, leading to a new promising partnership!
The program involved 10 secondary school teachers from Rhodes, Tinos, Kefalonia, Crete, Salamina, Samos, Patmos and Mytilene. The aim was to bring Greek teachers into contact with new technologies that can provide solutions to the island's timeless challenges, and to instill their students the motivation to learn and apply these solutions, contributing this way to the sustainable development of their islands.
This program is a follow-up to a series of training actions implemented by DAFNI in cooperation with the Aegean Energy & Environmental Agency under European programs (eg PROMISE) and other collaborations (eg Energy Academy) and is also part of DAFNI's latest project, the Smart Islands Initiative.
